Repair. Stitch and restitch with size E nylon thread which matches the color of original stitching, when possible. Lock all straight stitching by backstitching at least 1/2 inch. Restitch directly over the original stitching, following original stitch pattern as closely as possible. b.    Replace. Replace a missing or unserviceable parachute inspection data pocket (log record pocket) as follows (figure 2-61): (1)   Position parachute inspection data pocket on bottom of deployment bag with pocket bottom edge squared with end slot reinforcement and retainer band keeper. (2)   Hand tack pocket to main strap at four corners using a tacking needle and two turns of doubled, waxed ticket 8/7 thread. Wax thread in accordance with para. 2-19. (3)   Secure tacking ends with a surgeon's knot and a locking knot. Trim ends to 1/4 inch. 2-106
