d. Fold tape in center and dip in a mixture of 50% Beeswax and 50% Paraffin wax for a distance of
1¾-inches.
e. Fold the tape in the center. Place on top of the original stitch formation of the opening loop. Sew
in place using a light-duty sewing machine, size E nylon thread, 7 to 11 stitches per inch, and a 4-
inch WW formation.
5. Inside retainer band keeper. Replace as follows:
a. Cut the stitching and remove the damaged keeper from the side flap panel.
b. Cut an 8-inch length of 1¼-inch-wide, type III nylon tape; sear the ends.
