EFTC Actuator Assembly. All
actuator assemblies must be checked
prior to every airdrop. Check
assembly (1) operation. Inspect for
excessive wear, bends, breaks, or
weld separation. Check that safety
pin (2) and the cam arm spring (3) are
present. Ensure the axle nut (4) is
not loose, the actuator arm (5) is not
bent, and there is not excessive play
between arm and axle. Rotate the
arm to the locked position and insert
the locking pin to safety the arm.
Measure the distance from the center
on the cable-connecting hole to the
outside surface of the housing slot
where the cable extends through. If
the distance measures 2 ½-inches or
more, the actuator arm or actuator
link is defective and will not allow
proper cable movement. If the
distance is less than 2 ½-inches, the
actuator is acceptable. Check the
actuator by carefully removing the
locking pin and slowly rotating the
arm manually and confirm the arm will
lock in the horizontal position under
the action of the spring lever. Refer
to WP 0019 00.
Assembly (1) is inoperable
or has excessive wear,
bends, breaks, or weld
separation. Safety pin (2)
and cam arm spring (3) are
missing. Actuator arm (5)
is bent, the axle nut (4) is
loose, or there is excessive
play between arm and axle.
Distance measured is 2 ½-
inches or more, the arm will
not lock in the horizontal
position under the action of
the spring lever.
