NOTE
Replacement of canopy lines is accomplished at the Intermediate Direct
Support (DS) Maintenance level only, in accordance with the Maintenance
Allocation Chart (MAC), Appendix B.
(1) Replacing a suspension line. A suspension line that is damaged beyond repair or that exceeds the
one splice limitation will be replaced by attaching one end 6f a replacement line length to the original connector
link, routing the running end through the original radial seam channel, then splicing the end to the original vent
line. Fabricate the replacement line in accordance with the following (figure 2-114):
(a) Place the canopy assembly in proper layout on a suitable work surface and trace the affected
suspension line from the point of attachment on the respective connector link to the canopy skirt,
then through the radial seam channel to the respective vent line.
(b) Remove the original suspension line from the applicable connector link by cutting and at the lower
edge of the lower lateral band, just above the V-tab. Secure the loose end of the radial line using
temporary tacking or push pins.
(c) Cut an 83-foot length of type IV coreless nylon cord. Wax one end.
